Dr. David Cowart is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon with over 16 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. As the founder of Summit Skin Mohs & Dermatology, he brings a deep commitment to precision, integrity, and personalized skin cancer care to the San Antonio community.

Dr. Cowart earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and completed his dermatology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident, training under some of the nation’s foremost dermatologists and skin cancer experts.

He went on to complete a prestigious, ACMS-accredited fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery (MMS) at the University of Vermont, where he received advanced training in the treatment of complex skin cancers and facial reconstruction.

During his military career, Dr. Cowart cared for thousands of service members, veterans, and their families, earning a reputation for surgical excellence and compassionate care. He now brings that same level of dedication and expertise to his civilian practice.
